– Killing me a shot at a time

Whiskey and Wine.. killing me a shot at a time…

Well you don’t need heartbreak to enjoy a little whiskey… but this song gives a mello vibe which is perfect for drinking something smooth.

Enter the Drunken Army.

The Drunken Army is made up of the best-trained, most dedicated, most respected drunks in the world – protecting our drinking freedoms at home and abroad, securing our libation liberties, and defending the right to stumble out of bars worldwide.

This meet-up group celebrates the regulars of bars, those who don’t act ridiculous every Saturday night, that drink for the taste and always have a good story to share.

This past Thursday I joined my friend Lindsey for the first Los Angeles Drunken Army tweet up. Hosted by Caroline on Crack and Thirsty in LA we converged at Bar*Food which offers a wine and beer selection along with their tweaked upscale bar menu. They are also offering an ever growing list of Whiskeys, no mixers, straight up or on the rocks. As it should be.

Lindsey and I ordered Johnny Walker Black and Glenlivet on the rocks. We both ordered off of Bar*Food’s Happy Hour menu, which they are offering all night, every night for the time being. The Bar Burger, a burger with cheddar and bacon jam (yes BACON JAM) was delicious. The perfect combo of sweet and savory. Our table was also sent some complimentary potato puffs with aoli which had a very interesting texture. We enjoyed our cocktails, mingled with the other bloggers, podcasters, and friends, and set the ball rolling for future successful tweet-ups in LA.
