Once there was a girl...

...and now she's grown into a woman.

I'm a lady who loves Earl Grey tea, skeletons, and stilettos. Also slightly obsessed with tentacles. Wrap your mind around that.

Great news for @Hangar24Brewery! They’re being added to taps at Angels Stadium.

Redlands-based craft brewery Hangar 24 adds itself to the stadium’s alcoholic lineup, according to The Press-Enterprise. Hangar 24 is one of two breweries being added to the concession stands, hinting that management is starting to be a little more selective after the massive letdown known as first baseman Albert Pujols. Hangar 24 suds will be added due to an overwhelming response from fans, Angels staff claims, because heaven forbid they watch their team suffer while sober.

Nothing can replicate the energy being in an area with thousands of people singing this song along with Dave Gahan…

Seeing them for the first time in concert with ladies I was graduating with in the summer of 2001 closed the chapter of my youth and solidified friendships that have lasted over a decade.

There’ll be a slight delay in my Getty Aphrodite follow-up… apparently my point and shoot camera is MIA and needs to be hunted down!

Yes! This is why I love @slackmistress @toryhoke @intellichick and other kick ass ladies who write/live/represent where young women should go with their lives!

That is why when we discuss beauty with Miss P, who is now 5, it is in terms of actions and personality, and not clothes or hair.

A beautiful girl is one who shares, is kind, is respectful, and giving. I’m totally ok with perpetuating that mindset.

I’ve been through this chart a few times, always ends on the same response…

Should you get that tattoo? Here’s a helpful flowchart to assist you in deciding.

100 times YES. I’m happy to say I have mastered or learned most of these things… I have one year left to check the rest off of my list.

I’ve always touted that my 30s were going to be something to celebrate and had people scold me for wishing away my 20s…

Now that I’m 29 I can look back and see that I was 100% right. I wouldn’t change a thing about the last decade, every hiccup and good memory has made me who I am today, but I can tell you with absolute certainty that my years to shine are directly ahead of me and I’m going to grab ahold of them and shake every ounce of life out of them~

30 Things Every Woman Should Have And Should Know By 30

By 30, you should have …

1. One old boyfriend you can imagine going back to and one who reminds you of how far you’ve come.

2. A decent piece of furniture not previously owned by anyone else in your family.

3. Something perfect to wear if the employer or man of your dreams wants to see you in an hour.

4. A purse, a suitcase, and an umbrella you’re not ashamed to be seen carrying.

5. A youth you’re content to move beyond.

6. A past juicy enough that you’re looking forward to retelling it in your old age.

7. The realization that you are actually going to have an old age — and some money set aside to help fund it.

8. An email address, a voice mailbox, and a bank account — all of which nobody has access to but you.

9. A résumé that is not even the slightest bit padded.

10. One friend who always makes you laugh and one who lets you cry.

11. A set of screwdrivers, a cordless drill, and a black lace bra.

12. Something ridiculously expensive that you bought for yourself, just because you deserve it.

13. The belief that you deserve it.

14. A skin-care regimen, an exercise routine, and a plan for dealing with those few other facets of life that don’t get better after 30.

15. A solid start on a satisfying career, a satisfying relationship, and all those other facets of life that do get better.

By 30, you should know …

1. How to fall in love without losing yourself.

2. How you feel about having kids.

3. How to quit a job, break up with a man, and confront a friend without ruining the friendship.

4. When to try harder and when to walk away.

5. How to kiss in a way that communicates perfectly what you would and wouldn’t like to happen next.

6. The names of the secretary of state, your great-grandmothers, and the best tailor in town.

7. How to live alone, even if you don’t like to.

8. Where to go — be it your best friend’s kitchen table or a yoga mat — when your soul needs soothing.

9. That you can’t change the length of your legs, the width of your hips, or the nature of your parents.

10. That your childhood may not have been perfect, but it’s over.

11. What you would and wouldn’t do for money or love.

12. That nobody gets away with smoking, drinking, doing drugs, or not flossing for very long.

13. Who you can trust, who you can’t, and why you shouldn’t take it personally.

14. Not to apologize for something that isn’t your fault.

15. Why they say life begins at 30

What’s on your personal list of things to have and know — and possibly do — before turning 30?

A few weeks ago I was invited to the press preview of a breathtaking exhibit at the Getty Villa in Malibu.

I, of course, jumped at the chance and was thrilled to take in the exhibit Aphrodite and the Gods of Love in such an intimate setting. The press were treated to a tour of the exhibit by the curator of the installation David Saunders and his enthusiasm towards the subject of Aphrodite was felt by all.

Make some time to visit the Getty this spring, the Aphrodite installation runs through July 9th where it will then move to another museum in the midwest. This collection, although some of the pieces are travelling on loan from the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and directly from Greece, is enhanced by items from the J. Paul Getty collection which will not continue with the exhibit.

“Afterwards, she came to sea-girt Cyprus, and came forth an awful and lovely goddess, and grass grew up beneath her shapely feet. Her gods and men call Aphrodite…”    - Theogony by Hesoid 178
