I was thrilled to stay at the Hotel Mac in the spring of last year… I anticipated my room to have a gorgeous lush view of the river valley. Unfortunately for me, in May the last of the snow had just melted, and my excitement was rewarded with the dull bare trees and gritty roads that plague all winter cities before the spring rains breathe life back into them. The hotel was nice, the staff friendly, but it was nowhere near as luxurious as it was when it first opened, and made me thank my lucky stars to live near to The Mission Inn which has turned a local gem into a classy luxurious oasis.  maybeedmonton: McDougall Hill and Hotel MacDonald, Edmonton, Alberta (no date).
